Terms of use
Plain and short. By using Why Not You, you agree to these terms.
1. The app
Why Not You is an alarm clock app for Android with a spoken wake-up plan, a message on every alarm and optional AI assistant features. You may use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t reverse engineer, resell or misuse the app or our server.
2. Alarms are best-effort
We work hard to make alarms reliable, but whether an alarm rings depends on your phone and its settings — for example battery optimisation, Do Not Disturb, volume, permissions you’ve granted, the phone being on, and changes made by Android or your phone’s manufacturer. Don’t rely on the app as your only alarm for anything where missing it could cause harm or loss (like a flight, a medical appointment or a work shift you can’t miss).
3. Pro, subscriptions and billing
- Pro is sold through Google Play as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Google Play’s terms also apply to your purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. A free trial, if offered, turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- You can cancel anytime in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policies.
- We may change prices for future periods. Google Play will tell you before a price change affects your subscription.
4. Your AI assistant
If you connect an AI assistant (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok or Le Chat), you’re allowing it to read and change your alarms, their messages and follow-up questions, and your plans. Actions the assistant takes on your behalf are your responsibility, as if you had made them yourself. AI assistants can make mistakes, so check important alarms. The app keeps a log of what the assistant changed. Your use of the assistant is also governed by its provider’s own terms.
5. Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has accessed it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings or by emailing us. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
6. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what data the app uses and how.
7. No warranty and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed alarms, missed appointments or lost time, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
